​Ling Hon Lam is assistant professor in the Department of  East Asia Languages and Cultures at the University of California, Berkeley.

His research and teaching interests cover  premodern drama and fiction, women's writing, sex and fender. history of sentiments.

His book The Spatiality of Emotion in Early Modern China: From Dreamscapes to Theatricality has been recently published by Columbia University Press.
